GLIDE · SUPPORT

Start with the symptom.

Most problems are a Wi-Fi permission, an old MIDI mapping or one DAW input setting. Work through the matching section before reinstalling anything.

Glide says “Computer Offline” or the companion is offline＋
  1. On Mac, confirm Glide's slider icon is visible in the menu bar. On Windows, open Start → Glide → Glide Setup.
  2. Confirm the computer and mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi name.
  3. Avoid guest Wi-Fi and temporarily disconnect VPNs on both devices.
  4. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and enable Glide.
  5. On Android, allow Glide's camera permission for QR scanning and keep Wi-Fi enabled.
  6. On Windows, allow GlideRuntime through Windows Firewall on Private networks only.
  7. Restart the companion, then reopen the mobile app.
  8. If both devices changed networks, scan the computer's current QR again.
Glide Automation is missing in my DAW＋
  1. Make sure the Mac menu-bar companion or Windows Glide tray companion is running.
  2. On Windows, open Glide Setup and confirm Windows MIDI and Glide Automation (B) are ready.
  3. Quit and reopen your DAW once after installing the companion.
  4. Open its MIDI input, controller or remote-control settings.
  5. Choose Glide Automation on Mac or Glide Automation (B) on Windows and enable MIDI Learn or remote control.
  6. In Ableton Live, look under Input Ports rather than Control Surfaces or Output Ports.
Windows says its MIDI connection is not ready＋
  1. Confirm the PC is running a fully updated Windows 11 24H2 or newer. Beta 2 does not support Windows 10.
  2. Run the Glide installer again so it can add or update Microsoft Windows MIDI Services Runtime and Tools.
  3. Restart Windows once, open Glide Setup and choose Retry Windows MIDI.
  4. When the status turns green, reopen the DAW and select Glide Automation (B) as its MIDI input.
  5. Do not install loopMIDI for Beta 2.
QR pairing does not complete＋
  1. Make sure the QR is the current one shown by the companion on the same trusted Wi-Fi.
  2. Keep the complete QR visible and move the phone slightly farther from the screen.
  3. Allow Camera when the operating system asks.
  4. If Camera is unavailable, copy the private pairing link from the companion and paste it in Glide.
  5. Never paste or send the private pairing link to another person.
A parameter jumps, wraps or moves wildly＋
  1. Stop recording and check whether your DAW's pickup, soft-takeover or takeover setting is fighting the incoming value.
  2. In Ableton Live, set Takeover Mode to None.
  3. Remove the affected old MIDI mappings.
  4. Map the parameter again using the matching MAP button in Glide.
Two parameters move together＋
  1. Open your DAW's MIDI mapping view and inspect the channel/CC labels.
  2. Remove the duplicate assignment if two parameters use the same label.
  3. Remap with another Glide control or page. Spring, Fader, X and Y are independent.
X · Y moves in the wrong direction＋
  1. Glide defaults to X-right and Y-up, producing a clockwise path in standard XY controls.
  2. If one plug-in mirrors an axis, tap ? in Glide and flip that page's X or Y direction once.
  3. The choice is remembered separately for every page.
I replaced or lost a paired device＋
  1. Open Glide → Set Up Phone on Mac, or Start → Glide → Glide Setup on Windows.
  2. Reset the companion's mobile pairing key.
  3. Open pairing in Glide and scan the new private QR on every mobile device you still trust.
